Multiple NIH funded post-doctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Prof. Zhijian Qian, in the Department of Medicine/Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Florida to study cancer and stem cell biology. Ongoing studies in the lab include DNA/RNA-mediated epigenetic, transcriptional and post-translational regulation of gene expression related to normal hematopoiesis, leukemogenesis and tumorigenesis, and development of new targeted therapies for hematological malignant diseases and cancers. Various biochemistry and molecular techniques, genomic approaches as well as genetic and xenograft mouse models are employed in the studies. Applicants are required to have a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, and extensive experience with techniques in hematological research, Molecular biology, Biochemistry and mouse genetics. Experience with mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, flow cytometric analysis, bioinformatics and animal experiments is preferred. The candidates should be highly motivated individuals with the ability to work in a team environment.
