Job Description：The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship available in the laboratory of Drs. Lee Ellis andRajat Bhattacharya at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This is a full¬time, hands-on laboratory post¬doctoral research position in the Department of Surgical Oncology. Applicants must have a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. with focused research on the relevant subjects. The successful candidate will have a track record of productivity in research and have the training, talent and dedication to take advantage of the vast resources available at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

We are seeking highly motivated and interactive colleagues with training in basic science/translational research and are interested in applying their knowledge and skill sets to cell signaling, genomic and proteomic analyses, high throughput drug screening technologies, and in vivo tumor modeling. The candidate should contribute to our overall goalaimed towards a better understanding of the biology of colorectal cancer (CRC) and the development of novel and effective therapies for patients with CRC. Competitive candidates should have strong experience in molecular biology, cancer biology, cell culture with some exposure and experience in experimental therapeutics, and animal models of cancer. Our laboratory is well equipped with resources to study colorectal cancer including patient-derived xenografts, 3D culture/organoid models, and unique sets of various drug resistant CRC cell lines. Candidates will be responsible for work on ongoing projects in the laboratory and will also be encouraged to develop novel scientific ideas.

Postdoctoral/Biomedicine Job Description:

The laboratory of Nan Yang, PhD, at the Department of Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, is seeking postdoctoral fellows with expertise in neuroscience to study the mechanisms underlying neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Dr. Yang’s laboratory aims at translating emerging genetic findings from genomic studies into functional analyses with the goal of understanding the pathogenic underpinnings of ASD. The team uses multidisciplinary approaches including CRISPR gene editing, electrophysiology, single-cell sequencing, genetic and epigenetic analyses, and high-resolution imaging to characterize how the disease associated mutations impair neuronal properties and network activities. We also employ brain organoids combined with live-imaging and single-cell profiling to study the early molecular and cellular events, such as cell proliferation, migration and differentiation that are impaired by disease-causing mutations identified in recent large-scale genomic studies.

Basic qualifications:

PhD, MD/PhD in Neuroscience/Molecular Biology/Cellular Biology;

Demonstrated expertise in neuroscience;

Strong record of publications in peer-reviewed journals;

Excellent communication skills;

Ability to work in an international and interdisciplinary team.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with human stem cell cultures;

Familiarity with R and other statistical software.
